philly cheese steak burgers

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb ground beef lean

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons butter

1 small yellow onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, seeded & diced

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 cup beef broth

8 oz provolone cheese slices

6 hamburger buns

To taste, kosher salt and freshly ground black Pepper

DIRECTIONS:

In a large skillet, heat the ground beef and garlic powder until it is browned. Transfer the beef to a plate.

Butter, onions, and peppers should be added to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Add cornstarch to 2 tablespoons of beef broth. Mix in the rest of the beef broth.

Allow simmering for at least 30 minutes. Adjust the seasoning as necessary.

Take off the heat and add provolone cheese. Serve on toasted hamburger buns.
